Chapter 13

The sudden bang of the hotel room door flying open startled the two men in the room. Porsche immediately tensed, instinctively wrapping his hands around his baby bump protectively as Kinn turned sharply toward the door. His protective instincts ignited as he prepared to confront the unexpected entrants.

To their surprise, Crystal, Kinn’s mother, walked in, exuding her usual authoritative charm. Following close behind her was Arm, Kinn’s loyal brother-in-law, carrying a box and looking delighted to be there.

Kinn isn't surprised; he knows his mom never waits for an invitation. He planned to introduce her to Porsche after winning Porsche's heart, but it seems his mom couldn't wait.

Crystal’s sharp eyes immediately swept over the room, landing on Porsche. Despite her intimidating aura, her face softened as soon as she noticed Porsche’s swollen baby bump and the evidence of tears lingering on his face.

“Oh, my sweet Porsche!” Crystal exclaimed, rushing over without giving Kinn so much as a glance. She gently cupped Porsche’s cheeks, inspecting his tear-streaked face.

“What happened? Why have you been crying, my darling?”

Before Porsche could respond, Crystal’s gaze darted toward her son, and the warmth in her eyes turned cold and accusing. She spun on her heel to Kinn. Raising her hand with theatrical force, she smacked the back of his head. The sound echoed in the luxurious suite, leaving both Kinn and Porsche stunned.

“Ow! Mom! What was that for?” Kinn complained, rubbing the back of his head as Crystal fixed him with a glare that could slice through steel.

“For making him cry!” she snapped, hands on her hips.

“What on earth did you say or do to upset my fragile, pregnant future son-in-law?”

“Mom, I didn’t—! I mean, if you’d just let me explain,” Kinn stammered, shooting a pleading look toward Porsche for some backup, but Porsche seemed too amused to come to his rescue just yet.

Crystal turned back to Porsche, her expression immediately softening again. “Porsche, sweetheart,” she said, her voice laced with genuine concern, “are you okay? Is it Kinn? Has he been insensitive? He can be such a brute sometimes.”

Porsche bit his lower lip to hold back a smile, charmed by Crystal’s motherly defense of him. His tears, though earlier sparked by his overwhelming emotions, seemed to ebb in the face of her fierce protection.

“It’s alright, Madam,” Porsche finally managed, his voice soft but filled with warmth.

“Kinn didn’t do anything wrong this time. It’s… it’s just ..Ah..too many things in my mind.

Crystal narrowed her eyes as Porsche called her "Madam," her lips quirking into an expression of playful disapproval.

"Madam? Porsche dear, don't you think that sounds too formal?" she chided lightly, though her voice carried warmth.

"Now that you're going to be a part of this family, I’d prefer you call me ‘Mom,’ just like Arm does. "

"Oh, um…" Porsche stammered, looking flustered as warmth crept up his face. He timidly nodded, unsure how to navigate this sudden shift.

"Okay… Mom," he finally managed, his voice unsure but earnest. The word felt foreign to him—soft, unfamiliar, but simultaneously comforting in ways he hadn’t expected.

Crystal’s face lit up. "There! That’s much better," she said cheerfully, stepping forward to poke Porsche gently on the arm.

"And don’t act like I’m scary. You’ve scared us far worse with your stunts! Do you know how many sleepless nights we had when we thought you’d…" Crystal trailed off, her smile fading slightly as she glanced at Porsche’s baby bump. The topic she was broaching was delicate, but it was clear she couldn’t stay silent about it.

Porsche immediately looked down, his hands reflexively cradling his baby bump. He knew exactly where Crystal was going, and shame pooled in his chest. He swallowed hard, glancing nervously at Kinn, who looked at him with a mixture of worry and silent pleading.

"I… I’m sorry," Porsche began hesitantly, his voice barely audible. "I didn’t mean to make everyone sad. I just… I couldn’t see any way out."

Arm, who had been quietly watching, looked deeply concerned. His calm presence felt like a steadying hand on the ship of their emotions as he spoke up gently. "Porsche, we were heartbroken when we thought you’d…" He paused, searching for the right words to avoid causing further hurt.

"...when we thought the babies were gone. But we can see how much you’ve been through. But You could talk to us .."

Porsche lifted his gaze hesitantly, his eyes glistening. "I didn’t know what else to do," he said, his voice cracking.

"Kinn was so…" He paused, his throat tightening, as he tried to say the words.

"He was so controlling, so angry and possessive back then. I couldn’t let my children grow up in that environment. I didn’t want them to live in fear of their own father’s temper. I thought... I thought the only way to protect myself and them was by… by making everyone believe I wasn’t pregnant anymore."

The room fell into a heavy silence, Crystal’s usual fiery demeanor softening as she observed Porsche’s visible guilt and anguish. Kinn, on the other hand, looked stricken.

Kinn took a shaky step toward Porsche, his voice trembling as he spoke. "Baby… I’m so sorry," he begged.

"I know I was a monster then. I know I hurt you, and I’ll never forgive myself for driving you to a point where you felt you had to take such measures. But I swear to you, I’ve changed. I’ve spent months reflecting, trying to become someone worthy of being your husband and our children’s father. Please, believe me. Just give me a chance."

Crystal touched Porsche’s shoulder, her touch firm yet comforting as her maternal instincts kicked in. "Porsche, sweetie," she said, her tone gentle but resolute.

"I know my son has made a lot of mistakes in the past, and I’ll be the first to knock some sense into him if he messes up again. But I need you to know… he’s been through hell these past months. He truly thought he’d lost you and the babies forever. He may not show it the way others do, but that pain changed him. I can see it in how he looks at you now, in the way he’s giving his all to win you back."

"Mom’s telling the truth," Arm chimed in, nodding earnestly. "I’ve seen him these past months. He barely slept, barely spoke to anyone. For someone as determined and stubborn as Kinn, admitting even to himself that he failed you… it broke him. He’s been trying so hard to become better—not just for himself but for you and the kids.We are not forcing you to give him a Chance..Please consider giving him a second chance porsche.."

Porsche listened in silence, tears slipping down his cheeks as waves of guilt, sorrow, and love washed over him. He glanced at Kinn, seeing the raw vulnerability in Kinn’s eyes.

Porsche had never seen Kinn look so unguarded, so willing to lay everything on the line for him. Slowly, he reached out and took Kinn’s hand, squeezing it tightly.

"I never really wanted to go through with it," Porsche admitted softly, his voice trembling with emotion. "I just wanted to escape. I thought if I made you believe I’d lost the babies, you’d let me go. But they… they were a part of me. No matter how scared I was, I couldn’t bear to lose them. They were part of you and part of me.."

Kinn’s hand tightened around Porsche’s, his heart racing as he processed Porsche’s words.

“You didn’t lose them,” Kinn urged, his voice barely above a whisper. “You chose to protect them, to protect us. I can’t imagine what you went through after you left me. But I need you to know that I’m here now. I want to be here for you and for our family. Just give me the chance to show you.”

Porsche looked away, trying to compose himself. His thoughts were a jumble of emotions, and the softness in Kinn’s expression bewildered him. He turned to Crystal and Arm, seeking their guidance. Their eyes were full of encouragement, the warmth of family surrounding him like a safety net.

“Porsche,” Crystal said gently, stepping forward. “I’ve watched Kinn grow in ways I never thought possible. He’s a better person when he’s with you. You can both heal from this. But you have to let each other in.”

Arm nodded in agreement. “Yeah, Porsche. You both went through so much pain. But if you close the door completely, you might never find the way back to each other. Love is not perfect—it can be messy and complicated. But it's worth it.”

Porsche’s heart drummed in his chest as he made eye contact with Kinn again. Kinn’s eyes glistened with hope, and in that moment, something shifted within Porsche. He felt a warmth spread through him, replacing a portion of the fear that had held him captive.

“I’m scared,” Porsche admitted, his voice cracking. “I don’t want to get hurt again, and I don’t want to hurt you either.”

“Trust me,” Kinn replied, his voice steady despite the tremor of emotion beneath it. “I’ll work every day to earn your trust back. I promise that I’ll listen, and I’ll be patient. Please, just give me a chance to show you.”

Kinn squeezed Porsche’s hand tighter, his eyes pleading. “I want to write our story, Porsche—not just the pain, but also the moments of joy and love. You mean everything to me, and our children… they deserve to have both their parents love for them. I’ll never stop trying.”

Porsche felt the tide of emotions swelling within him, the guilt and fear melding into something hopeful. Kinn’s vulnerability resonated deeply, peeling back the layers of doubt hardening his heart. He took a shuddering breath, releasing his fears slowly. He looked at Kinn, and in that moment, everything felt manageable, even if just a little.

“Okay,” Porsche said, the word leaving his lips as a quiet surrender. “I’ll give you a chance.”

Arm and Crystal exchanged proud glances, relief evident on their faces as they witnessed the beginning of a new chapter. For the first time in a long while, Porsche felt the fragile thread of hope start to weave through the fabric of their lives, rekindling a spark that had once flickered

"Thank you," Kinn whispered brokenly. "Thank you for keeping them, for giving me another chance to be the father they need. I promise you, Porsche, I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you and proving I’m not the man I used to be."

Crystal’s eyes filled with tears as she watched the tender moment unfold. "I’m so glad you didn’t go through with it, Porsche. Seeing you here, carrying my grandchildren, brings me more joy than you can imagine," she said sincerely.

"You’re brave, Porsche. Everything you’ve done, even the mistakes, has been to protect your children. And that makes you an amazing parent already."

Porsche felt warmth spread through his chest at Crystal’s words. For the first time in what felt like forever, a glimmer of hope began to shine in his heart. He looked around at the people surrounding him—people who cared, who believed in him and Kinn, and who wanted the best for their growing family. Perhaps, just perhaps, they could find a way to heal together.

Crystal’s eyes narrowed as she took a closer look at Porsche, her gaze scanning him from head to toe. Her maternal instincts quickly kicked in, and concern etched into her features.

“Porsche, sweetheart, are you eating properly? You don’t look… well,” she asked softly, though her tone carried a pinch of urgency. It was as though seeing him pale and visibly thinner had struck a nerve with her, shaking her to the core.

Porsche flinched slightly, hugging his arms around himself as though trying to hide the evidence of his frail state. His gaze instinctively darted to Kinn, who looked as equally distressed under his mother’s scrutinizing stare.

“I-I’m fine, Madam… um, Mom,” Porsche stammered, correcting himself mid-sentence. His cheeks flushed pink, a mix of embarrassment and shame washing over him. “It’s just… I’ve been… busy.”

Crystal’s expression softened for a split second before she sighed deeply, stepping closer and placing a hand on Porsche’s shoulder.

“Don’t try to fool me with that excuse, darling. You look awfully pale and too thin for someone who’s carrying twins. Busy or not, you should be taking proper care of yourself. How on Earth have you been managing?”

Porsche bit his lip as he avoided her gaze, his head bowing slightly. “I-I wasn’t in the best situation back then… under my stepmother’s care. She barely gave us anything to eat, and what little I had, I made sure my younger brother ate before me. And with the babies, I… I had to sometimes skipped meals.I am so sorry..Its not like i don't love my children..I love them ..Please trust me..”

Crystal inhaled sharply as if Porsche’s words physically pained her. “That awful woman... I knew she was terrible, but to hear it like this…” Her voice trembled lightly with anger as she placed her other hand gently over Porsche’s bump.

“You not eating means my grandchildren weren’t eating either, and that’s simply unacceptable.”

“I tried my best!..Please..I am sorry..” Porsche spoke suddenly, desperation leaking into his voice. His eyes shimmered with unshed tears as his shame overflowed.

“I— I wanted to give them proper nutrition. I… I wanted to take care of them better. But I couldn’t. I tried.. and had no money for medical care or good food… I…” His voice broke as he trailed off, unable to hold back the tears anymore.

Kinn immediately wrapped his arms around Porsche, pulling him close and cradling his head against his chest.

“It’s not your fault, baby. None of this is your fault,” Kinn murmured softly, his tone a mix of tenderness and guilt.

“You did what you could with what little you had. You protected our children, and I’ll forever be grateful for that. But now, you’re not alone anymore. I’m with you every step of the way, and I’ll make sure you and our babies are healthy and happy.”

Crystal leaned down slightly, brushing Porsche’s hair with a soothing touch. “Your health, Porsche, is just as important as our grandchildren’s. You can’t pour from an empty cup, darling. So from now on, I don’t want to hear about you skipping meals or not going to get proper medical care. Do you understand me?”

Porsche nodded feebly, his tears still falling despite their kind reassurances. Arm, who had been unpacking the box in the corner, stepped forward with a determined expression.

“Listen, Porsche,” Arm began, his tone gentle but firm. “None of this is your fault. You sacrificed so much for your brother, your grandmother, and now for these little ones you’re carrying. But you need to let us take care of you now, okay? You have a whole family here who will make sure you’re fed, safe, and loved.”

Crystal’s expression shifted, the intensity of her emotions softening slightly before a teasing glint flashed in her eyes.

“That’s right, Porsche,” she said, lightly poking his arm. “You’re going to married into this family now—and that includes having access to all of my son’s ridiculously large bank account. Considering how hard my son works, it’s only fair you give him something to work harder for, don’t you think?”

Porsche blinked, startled by Crystal’s playful jab. “Um…what?” he asked, clearly flustered by the unexpected turn in the conversation.

“Oh, don’t ‘what’ me, Porsche,” she continued, a smirk adorning her lips. “As Kinn’s future husband, you have every right to enjoy every penny he earns. The man has more money than he knows what to do with, so why not spend it?”

“Mom!” Kinn groaned in protest, though he couldn’t keep the small smile from tugging at his lips as he kissed the side of Porsche’s head.

“I’ve already told him everything I have is his. You didn’t need to spell it out like that.”

“But apparently, he needs the reminder,” Crystal shot back, raising an eyebrow at Porsche.

“Now, tell me, Porsche—what’s the first thing you’re going to buy with Kinn’s money to spoil yourself and those babies?”

“Mom !” Porsche exclaimed, his cheeks tinted crimson as he looked between her and Kinn. “I can’t just— I mean, I don’t think I…”

“Nonsense!” Crystal interrupted, waving away his hesitation as though it were a pesky fly.

“The first thing you’ll be doing is getting the best doctor in the country to look after you and those twins you're carrying. And after that, you’ll be eating the healthiest meals money can buy—delivered straight to wherever you are so you don’t have to lift a finger. Consider it my personal assignment to make sure my grandchildren and their father are pampered properly.”

Arm nodded enthusiastically. “Listen to her, Porsche. You deserve it—not just for your own sake, but for the babies too.”

Porsche slowly looked up at Kinn, locking eyes with him. The man’s gaze overflowed with love and determination, silently encouraging him to embrace the care and support he’d been longing for but hesitant to receive.

With a watery smile, Porsche finally whispered, “Okay. I’ll… I’ll try.”

“That’s all we need to hear,” Crystal said brightly, kissing the top of Porsche’s head as though sealing the promise.

“Now, let’s fatten you up before those babies start complaining!”

Despite the tears that had fallen minutes ago, the atmosphere shifted to one of warmth and belonging. Porsche felt the heavy burden on his shoulders begin to ease—a family had embraced him, promising not just love but a future filled with care and devotion.

"Now, Porsche," Crystal said, a twinkle of mischief in her eyes, "let's talk strategy on how to leverage Kinn's income to your advantage." She leaned in closer, clearly enjoying the look of bewilderment on Porsche's face.

“You think you can just sit back and let him shower you with gifts without putting your own spin on it? Absolutely not! It’s time to learn the art of taming the Theerapanyakul men.”

Porsche blinked, his brows furrowing in confusion. “Taming them? Is that really necessary?”

Crystal chuckled, waving her hand dismissively. “Oh sweetie, trust me. It’s essential! I taught your future brother-in-law how to do it, and now it’s your turn! Arm wasn’t exactly the easiest man to train, but look at him now—he’s trained up as well as any Theerapanyakul man can be!”

Kinn crossed his arms over his chest with mock indignation, shooting a playful glare at his mother. “Thanks, Mom. I appreciate being described as a wild animal needing to be tamed.”

“Oh, come on, don’t act all high and mighty. You know you’re my obedient little pup now,” Crystal teased, reaching over to give Kinn's cheek a light pinch.

“Mom!” Kinn objected again, his voice a mix of amusement and exasperation.

Porsche, now blushing a deep shade of crimson, felt the pressure of attention hone in on him. “I don’t think I need any training—”

Crystal interrupted him with a playful roll of her eyes. “Porsche, darling, you absolutely do. Look at you! You’re way too sweet for your own good. If you don’t figure out how to spend Kinn’s money, he’ll just end up buying you socks for your birthday!”

Kinn couldn’t help but chuckle. “Hey, what’s wrong with socks? They’re practical!”

“Practical, yes, but do you really think Porsche would want socks as a gift?” Crystal shot back, a teasing grin plastered on her face. She then turned back to Porsche with an exaggerated wink.

Porsche let out a nervous laugh, trying to diffuse the bubbling tension. “I just… I don’t want to take advantage of Kinn.”

Crystal waved her hand again, her poise unmistakably maternal. “Sweetheart, it’s called enjoying your life and accepting what’s rightfully yours! You’re about to be a part of this family; you deserve to live well.” She leaned in even closer, whispering conspiratorially, “And if you’re clever enough, you can even teach Kinn a thing or two about treating his partner with decadence! Besides, I regret not teaching you sooner how to take advantage of him.”

Kinn’s eyes widened, the irritation mixing with amusement. “Mom ! "

“Oh, You could have showered him with gifts and attention like a prince before he ever gave you the chance!” Crystal clapped her hands gleefully, clearly reveling in her usual matchmaking antics.

Kinn groaned, burying his face in his hands momentarily, but a smile crept back at the edges of his lips despite the embarrassment. “Why does it feel like I’m in a sitcom right now?”

Arm grinned while giving Porsche a knowing look. “Welcome to the family, buddy! I hope you enjoy the humor and chaos.”

“Mom!” Kinn exclaimed again, his voice a blend of laughter and exasperation. “Can you please stop telling Porsche how to manipulate me?”

“But it’s so much fun!” Crystal trilled, her laughter lighting up the atmosphere even more. Then she turned back to Porsche, her tone softening.

“Seriously though, Porsche, there’s no shame in letting Kinn take care of you. He wants to spoil you just as much as you want to care for him and those babies. You just have to give him the chance.”

“Yeah, and remember, Porsche,” Arm chimed in with a supportive grin, “you were there for everyone else. Let us all step in now for you.”

Porsche looked between the three of them, feeling a warmth spread within his chest. “Okay… I’ll try to let Kinn spoil me.”

Crystal clapped her hands in delight. “Perfect! Now let’s discuss options. First things first: how about a regular spa day? We’ll make it a mother-son bonding experience, and then you can start slowly converting Kinn’s funds into pampering!”

Arm leaned in with a mischievous smirk. “And you know, if you play your cards right, you might just find yourself with diamond-encrusted socks.”

“Arm!” Kinn groaned again, but he couldn’t hide his smile.

“See, Porsche? Just wait until you’re really one of us,” Crystal said, her eyes sparkling with affection and mischief in equal parts.

“You’ll be worshipped like the queen you are, and Kinn won’t be able to help but spoil you. Just like all Theerpanyakul men do..”
